2. The Sterilight Platinum ultra-violet system

Ultra-violet (UV) rays are the most ecological disinfecting technique. UV rays effectively destroy microbial contaminants and, unlike chlorine, will not leave potentially hazardous additives. In addition, recent research indicates that UV rays can deactivate Cryptosporidium and Giardia parasites, which chlorine on its own is unable to do.

One restriction:

To ensure proper operation of a UV system, the water must meet certain basic criteria. In the event that it fails to do so, we can propose complementary solutions or a different system.

1) The Hague reverse osmosis system (NSF/ANSI 58)

Reverse osmosis separates dissolved salts and other contaminants from the water using a semi-permeable membrane. Only purified water can get through this membrane which diverts impurities to the drain. The reverse osmosis system eliminates salt, organic compounds, heavy metals, chlorine, sodium and a number of other residues. Reverse osmosis is also known to eliminate nitrates.
